A Chinese group have reviewed all of the trials that compared Tai chi with routine care or hypertensive medication in the treatment of high blood pressure and published their findings in the Evidence Based Complementary Alternative Medicine Journal. The team have concluded that Tai chi can have a beneficial effect in lowering blood pressure. However the quality and design of most of the 18 studies they reviewed was poor and they are asking for further, better designed, studies to clearly prove the point.
