Osteoporosis Natural Help

Osteoporosis treatments in India, Asia, China and South America are often cheap readily available natural plant remedies. Emodin is a plant resin that can be found in a variety of plants but is most commonly extracted from  Himalayan rhubarb. The resin has  traditionally been used to treat bone diseases in Asia for thousands of years.  A new study has looked at the potential of Emodin to improve bone density by rebalancing the formation of osteoblasts (cells responsible for bone formation)  in the bone marrow. The balance between production of bone forming cells and fat forming cells is out of sync in osteoporosis and the study investigated whether Emodin had an effect on this balance.  In a lab study results showed that Emodin treatment did indeed increase the number of oseteoblasts and  bone mineral density  whilst reducing the bone marrow fat tissue and adipocytes.  Emodin has also shown potential as a treatment for type II diabetes and cancer.
